Presentation

The research group eXiT (Control Engineering and Intelligent Systems) focuses its work on decision support systems, case-based reasoning, machine learning and optimization.

One of the research group’s success is to improve the quality of healthcare through innovative applications of artificial intelligence, to which this website gathers all the work done in that research line.

The group has received important awards, including the ITEA Excellence Awards 2015 for the MEDIATE project (a project aimed at supporting healthcare professionals in minimally invasive, image guided intervention and treatment) and the paper “Enabling the use of hereditary information from pedigree tools in medical knowledge-based systems” has been selected by IMIA as a Best Paper in its 2014 Yearbook of Medical Informatics.

The group is leading the Smart Healthcare Master Programme, a new master's degree focused on the application of Information and Communication Technologies to healthcare.
